Old Mountain Health Center Shifts with the Tides

As with all things in life, change is the only certainty.

OMHC is changing things up a bit. There are several changes, but all take effect October 1st.

First, Group Acupuncture [Community Style]  is going away. I have held on to it as a low cost option for treatments as long as was viable but it is simply not a popular option and thus will no longer be available. If you were a group patient at OMHC and the cost of private acupuncture treatments is more than you can afford please feel free to contact me. I am “grandfathering” all group patients, so you will be able to get a modified private treatment at group rates [this treatment will only include acupuncture, no herbs/moxa/gua sha/cupping/tui na].

Second, the clinic schedule is changing. The clinic days/hours will be changing. Starting October 1st, the clinic will be open Tuesdays – Fridays. Clinic hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be 8 am – 5 pm. On Wednesdays and Fridays clinic hours will be 8 am – 8 pm. Hopefully, the evening hours will allow patients who work 9 –  5  jobs to still get in for their appointments.

Third, class schedules will also be changing. All classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Same times: Qi Gong 5 – 5:30 pm, Tai Chi 5:30 – reat6:30 pm, and Long Fist Kung Fu 6:30- 7:30 pm.  Tai Chi for Health class will be unaffected by these changes. If you are unable to attend classes on these days feel free to contact me about setting up some Private Lessons. Hopefully, these days will allow for better attendance and fit folks’ schedules more easily.

These changes have been made with the patients/students in mind, though it is impossible to please everyone, so if you have any questions or comments about any of the above changes please feel free to contact me to discuss available options.

Thanks for helping to keep my dream alive here at OMHC! Without you, the patients and students, OMHC would not exist.

New Referral Rewards Points Program!

Posted by admin on May 12, 2011 in Chinese Medicine

OMHC is starting a new program in appreciation of all its patients that are referring their friends and families. OMHC wants to help as many people as possible and that is achieved by spreading the word about Chinese medicine and its benefits.

To that purpose. If you refer 3 new patients to OMHC, you get a free treatment [either Acupuncture or Tui Na massage].

How does it work?  Simple, take a stack of my cards, write your name on the back [both first & last], and give it to anybody that you know that can be helped by acupuncture, herbal medicine, or Chinese massage.

When I have three cards with your name on it, you get a free treatment!

*Note* The new patient must bring a card in with your name on the back for you to receive Rewards Points. When your redeem your free treatment, it is only the office visit that is covered. If you wish to receive an herbal formula during your visit, it is regular price.

There are some changes coming to Old Mountain Health Center in an attempt to better serve my patients.

The biggest change is starting on May 1st, there will be a shortening of Group Acupuncture hours on Wednesday and Saturday to allow for more Private Acupuncture Treatments. The new Group Acupuncture hours will be as follows:

Wednesdays: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Saturdays: 10:00 am – Noon

As always Walk-Ins are welcome though it is preferred for you to have an appointment [which can be made online instantly].

There are some other changes in the works which will be sent out in the May Newsletter soon.

Comments Off on Sciatica!

Posted by admin on Apr 9, 2010 in Chinese Medicine

Wow, had such a fun time this morning at Old Mountain Health Center. I only needed six needles to completely take away a patients Sciatic Nerve pain [pain starting in the hip/buttocks and traveling down the leg, sometimes as far as the foot]. It seems that so many people in Waynesville, NC are suffering from Sciatica lately. Acupuncture is great for relieving both the immediate pain as well as the underlying cause of the Sciatica. For some quick facts and tips see my Sciatica Handout.
